As the first couple of cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the UK my role at Leeds East Academy changed dramatically. I have learned first-hand how an organisation can prepare for the unexpected and adapt to the environment around them.
As part of my apprenticeship I have studied PESTLE analysis where companies will focus on predicting events that could occur. Companies will then use these predictions to prepare and ensure if the event happens then there is minimal hinderance to the business.
I have seen PESTLE analysis taking place as we originally prepared for schools going into full closure for the first countrywide lockdown. Preparations were made for the building to be deep cleaned, safer working practice measures were put in place to minimalise the risk presented to staff and students.
Being able to see the PESTLE analysis put in action has shown me how relevant the information I am learning in my apprenticeship is. I can use these experiences when approaching similar problems, which will avoid me stumbling over unsuccessful methods as I have seen the success of using techniques such as PESTLE analysis.
As the Academy has ensured all safety measures and precautions have been taken for both students and staff I was asked to participate in a photoshoot showing examples of how staff are maintaining and have the capacity to follow all guidelines to ensure safety in the academy.
