Role: 

 

The position of Curriculum Leader for Dance and Drama is a prestigious role within our academy and one that we highly value where you will not only lead an inclusive, coherently sequenced, and diverse dance and drama curriculum that promotes the accumulation of knowledge and skills, but one that is a highly inspirational programme for students who are wanting to access the industry in later life. 


At Leeds West Academy the role of the Curriculum Leader for Dance and Drama will be required to support highly talented colleagues to deliver a thematic programme of lessons and to also support the running of our transitional Specialism Programme where 10% of our Year 7 intake each year access Performing Arts through an audition process who excel exceptionally. This programme has supported the high levels of attainment for GCSE Dance and Drama that students have achieved each year.


The role of the Curriculum Leader for Dance and Drama is a central and integral role to Leeds West Academy whereby you will coordinate our whole school shows which run five times a year and have many positive interactions with parents which is also an important part of our ethos as a school welcoming as many parents into the academy to see the hard work and commitment of Performing Arts at our school.
