We believe that our academies are at the heart of the communities they serve. This is why we are committed to delivering an outstanding education to each and every one of our students.

Our schools provide an exceptional education and life training; harnessing the skills and fortifying the aspirations of young people, who we know will transform the Leeds City region and provide a positive, progressive contribution to society.

We are aspirational and unwavering in our vision, ensuring that every student who attends our academies:

  • is safe and happy at school

  • makes outstanding progress in every subject

  • develops the communication skills and personal confidence to fully prepare them to be successful leaders of the future

The White Rose Academies Trust employ outstanding professionals, whose daily commitment is matched only by the pride our students feel for their school and education.

Everyone associated with our Trust believes that the future of our society is exciting, vibrant and safe in the hands of our students. Their individual character, limitless ambition and determination will place Leeds at the centre of the Northern Powerhouse of the future.

Yours,

White Rose Academies Trust

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to the White Rose Academies Trust.

Our Trust is a cross -phase group of three secondary schools and one primary school in the City of Leeds. Our schools are warm, welcoming places to learn and we are incredibly proud of our inclusive approach to education which is centred upon the simple principle of creating a framework within which every child can flourish. We are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for all our young people through the development of strong supportive relationships, delivery of an ambitious and inclusive curriculum and bespoke pastoral care.

Our schools are strongly rooted to the communities we serve and are responsive in design to their needs. Each of our schools have their own unique identity which reflects their vibrant and diverse student population.

Across our Trust we strongly believe in the power of collaboration and professional generosity to facilitate highly effective school-to-school support. As an organisation we seize every opportunity to share best practice, celebrate our strengths and learn from our mistakes. We are outward facing and actively look to engage with organisations within the education sector from whom to learn and further develop our practice.

Investing in our teams across the organisation is a key focus for the Trust and all professionals have access to a carefully curated programme of CPD to support them to fulfil their personal and professional ambitions. We are determined to achieve an organisational culture which priorities staff welfare and wellbeing and values stakeholder engagement to inform and improve our work.

We are delighted that you are taking an interest in our Trust and would warmly welcome you to visit our academies to see the incredible work of our staff and students in action. To arrange a visit please contact info@whiteroseacademies.org

Our Vision and Ethos

Vision

To be an exceptional and responsive academy group providing life changing education, skills and experiences for individuals in our academies and in their communities.

Values
  • We believe that education can transform lives

  • We respect the individual, relishing the contribution that diversity brings

  • We strive to be the best we can be, actively and with pride

  • We look after our environment to keep it safe, healthy and inclusive

  • We lead by example and work as a team

  • We take responsibility for our own actions and are active in finding solutions to any problems

  • We respond flexibly to the needs of our students and take advantage of opportunities in the City of Leeds and the wider world

Ethos

The culture of all White Rose Academies will be based on a ‘can do’ approach. All Academies will encourage self-confidence, pro-active behaviours and responsibility for own actions from all. We will have high values and expectations of everyone, with high aspirations and ambition for students. We will be a ‘Single status’ organisation with shared facilities and will build strong and positive working relationships between students and staff.

Our Academies will be outward facing schools.

They will work closely with local secondary and primary schools/academies and other educational institutions on a national and international basis. They will also develop close links with other training and education providers including local colleges, universities and private training providers. Our Academies will be part of their local community and will develop relationships with community groups and employers. The aim of collaboration in every case will be to raise standards of achievement of students.

Parents and carers will always be welcome in a White Rose Academy.

We believe that changing expectations and aspirations locally will be a key part of why our Academies will raise standards. We will work closely with the Local Authority, EFA and other agencies to enable local communities to access resources and learning in our Academies.

Our Trust is a member of the Luminate Education Group, which believes that it can make a unique contribution to the work of our Academies through its expertise and national & international networks.

Our Academies will have a very strong international approach to all their work. Exchanges and international curriculum links will be at a high level. The Luminate Education Group will play an active part in developing any specialisms with extensive work placements alongside the design and possible delivery of vocational qualifications – both vocational and academic.

The Luminate Education Group is keen to promote the employability prospects of the students attending our Academies through a range of activities.

We will strive to ensure our programmes support the work related learning curriculum and help to develop and embed a culture of enterprise. The group wishes to mobilise its community and corporate contacts to gain greatest leverage for our Academies and to provide a good example to other organisations.
