Craig Williams
Craig was born and raised in Liverpool and former 'old fashioned' apprentice with Shell. Having been through further education to secure a HTC in Plant Engineering Craig was a non-traditional entrant to HE as a mature student before embarking on a second career. Craig’s second career involved employability for vulnerable adults, training and skills (Operational and strategic), careers and latterly governance support in further and higher education.
Craig’s current role as Clerk to the Board and Company Secretary at Leeds Trinity University and his governance work at WRAT is informed by his extensive and varied career experience. From apprentice to supporting the development of the employer led Employment and Skills Board and Partnership in Bradford (including producing the first employment and skills strategy) and running various volunteering and employability programmes. He is and experienced Trustee and Governor having been Vice Chair of Voluntary Action Leeds and Vice Chair of Leeds College of Technology and has sat on the Board of Leeds City College.
In his spare time, Craig tends his organic allotment and which donates spare produce for a local foodbank. In a previous life he played national league volleyball for Leeds, and also enjoys travel and reading.
