THE WHITE ROSE ACADEMIES TRUST BECOMES A FULL MEMBER OF
THE LEEDS LEARNING ALLIANCE
The White Rose Academies Trust are delighted to announce that on 14th May 2020, our Board of Directors, approved the Trust to become a full member of the Leeds Learning Alliance (LLA), with immediate effect. The Leeds Learning Alliance is a Foundation Trust formed by like-minded Leeds educational organisations based upon a shared commitment to inclusion, close collaboration and high level ambition.
The WRAT strongly aligns with the main principles of the LLA which are:
Unconditional mutual respect.
Inclusive and comprehensive admission and retention practices.
A supportive and challenging culture:
• encouraging the development and sharing of innovation.
• providing opportunities, encouragement and challenge for staff to improve their own practice.
• working generously with partners.
Learning and community at the heart of all that we do.
A broad, balanced and relevant curriculum offer for every child.
An expectation that all take responsibility for their own development.
Strong and tailored information, advice and guidance to all learners at all stages of education.
Widening access to the wealth of learning opportunities in Leeds.
Shared community use of facilities and a commitment to and promotion of family learning and healthy lifestyles.
Commitment and accountability to local communities and the city for cohesion and opportunities for involvement.
On joining the LLA, Andrew Whitaker, CEO of the White Rose Academies Trust said: “The Trust is delighted to work with the organisations and colleagues across the LLA family. We feel that our membership of this organisation is a key part of our 2025 strategy; a strategy that will see the Trust grow and become an even more inclusive and collaborative organisation”.
Paul Brennan Chair of the LLA also made the following statement, “I am delighted and excited by the enormous potential that is created by White Rose Academies Trust joining the Leeds Learning Alliance. This builds and strengthens all our work in bringing the best that Leeds has to offer its children and young people and most especially those that are overcoming disadvantage in their young lives.
This places the Leeds Learning Alliance in an even stronger position to further drive achievement through collaboration and inclusion”.
