WRAT Senior Vice Principal
Tracy graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 1996, with a degree in Cell and Molecular biology. Upon graduating, she led marketing for the UK Council for International Education at its headquarters in London. She went on to qualify as a Teacher of Science in 2000 at the University of Manchester. Tracy started her career teaching at Hanson Academy in Bradford where she was promoted to Assistant Head of Science.
In 2006, Tracy joined Feversham College as Head of Science and quickly gained promotion to Director of Science in recognition of successfully securing Science Specialist Status for the Academy. In 2009, she joined Oakbank School, a larger than average comprehensive school in Keighley, as Head of Science. During her four year period at Oakbank School, Science GCSE results improved from 42% to 65% A*-C. Ofsted praised the quality of teaching, citing science as the strongest department during their inspection in 2013.
In 2013 Tracy began working with The White Rose Academies Trust as Director of Learning for Science, where she implemented a new curriculum and assessment model leading to significantly improved teaching quality across all academies. In 2016 Tracy was deployed at Leeds City Academy as Senior Vice Principal with responsibility for student progress and outcomes.
Last summer, students at Leeds City Academy secured the best ever GCSE examination results in the school’s history and made better academic progress than the national average. Leeds City Academy is now seen as a driving force in transforming the lives of young people in the centre of Leeds.
Outside of school Tracy is a mother of three and coaches at a local running club.
Tracy is currently deployed at Leeds East Academy working closely with and supporting the Principal in driving the transformation of the academy.
