Sandi Ashworth

Sandi joined the predecessor school, Intake High School, in September 1995, initially as a member of the office administration team. There have been many changes in her role during her employment; Sandi initially worked in reprographics before becoming an Office Supervisor, Office Manager, and then in 2006 became the HR & Safeguarding Manager.

In 2009, the school became Leeds West Academy within the E-ACT Charitable Company Ltd and in 2011 moved into a new, purpose-built building. In 2014, the sponsor changed to The White Rose Academies Trust and Sandi worked closely with the Executive Leadership and the Finance Director during this transformational time, which included the addition of Leeds East Academy in 2013 and Leeds City Academy in 2014. Sandi became the wider Trust Human Resources Manager in 2013.

Sandi has extensive generalist experience, including salary and payroll administration, health, employee relations, recruitment and interview processes, restructures, TUPE, Disciplinary and Grievance cases, maintaining HR records and safeguarding protocols.

Sandi continues to work closely with the Executive Principal, Academy Principals and designated staff in all aspects of HR matters. She is also responsible for the Single Central Record and ensuring Safer Recruitment Protocols are stringently followed (Ofsted have quoted ‘the SCR as exemplary’ and ‘very comprehensive’).
