Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only plus 10 days
(8:00am- 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am-3:30pm Friday)

Leeds East Academy is an over-subscribed 11-16 academy that has recently achieved the title of UK Parliament School of the Year. Role:
The Learning Mentor will support pupils to ensure, specifically those with additional needs, engage more effectively with their learning and help increase levels of achievement through appropriate provision. The Learning Mentor combines mentoring skills whilst working in a supportive environment, ensuring all pupils make progress both, academically and within their wider development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To work specifically with small groups of students or individual students who have been identified through data analysis as requiring additional academic support; providing intervention which is specific to the pupil’s special educational needs.
To work closely with students within the provision of the Personalised Learning Centre (PLC), bridging the gap for pupils with individual learning needs, supporting a clear transition and reintegration pathway to mainstream education; evidencing a structured and coherent graduated approach.
To support students to reintegrate to mainstream education following protracted absence for whatever reason.
Contribute to the statutory assessments and annual reviews of students with Educational Health Care Plans, inclusive of new applications for a statuary assessment.
To support in creating highly bespoke and impactful Pupil Passports for students with special educational needs.
To take an active role in responding to interventions which are required to provide important levels of wrap-around care for vulnerable pupils.
To create resources and programmes of work for individual learning needs as required by the department.
