We are looking to recruit a Support Officer to join our Positive Behaviour Support Centre (PBSC) providing effective support to ensure that high standards of behaviour are maintained to underpin good academic development.
Reporting to the PBSC Leader, you will work in a number of areas related to SEND, Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare to contribute to the day to day procedures within the academy. To contribute to key objectives of the Academy Development Plan to maintain high standards of behaviour to underpin good academic development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To assist the Leader of the PBSC provision in ensuring that the quality of education and efficient administration and running of the provision, personalising the offer of the centre on a student-by-student basis. Implement all protocols and systems as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
To consistently promote and uphold the academy behaviour policy, in keeping with academy values.
To supervise and support students ensuring access to learning, encouraging independence and positive behaviour.
Support with the development and implementation of Student Support Plans, Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
To establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model, providing support, encouragement, guidance and assistance for learning, being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
To encourage students to reflect on their behaviour and to accept responsibility for their actions, advocating restorative processes where appropriate.
To encourage effective learning and promote high standards of achievement, behaviour, discipline, and attendance.
To promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students, seeking appropriate and impactful methods to support students in improving their behaviour.
To be aware of student problems/progress/achievements and report to the relevant member of staff.
To undertake and maintain regular student record keeping, including logging behaviour incidents/attendance issues on Arbor and logging interventions.
To plan and deliver interventions to support students social, emotional and mental health, as well as other SEND-specific interventions.
The successful candidate will have proven knowledge and experience in order to perform the role adequately and successfully.
In addition, you will be responsible for the administration of the requirements of the associated policies to ensure these are clear and accurate. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work within a team with a calm, professional and caring persona and courteous and caring behaviour to students, colleagues, and parents at all times. Previous experience of working within a school environment would be an advantage.
