Morgan, who joined The Grammar School at Leeds in Year 12 last year, has been selected as the Faculty Leader for Scientific Studies.
In this role, Morgan will take on several responsibilities, including that of leading faculty-related extra-curricular activities throughout the year, helping younger students at science homework clinics and assisting the Head of Department.
Demonstrating leadership qualities throughout her time at Leeds West Academy, Morgan was a pivotal and instrumental part of the school’s Student Parliament group.
The White Rose Academies Trust is proud to work with GSAL on their bursary programme, which sees top achieving students considered for a place at the illustrious school.
Commenting on the accomplishment, Morgan said: “I have had a great experience here at GSAL since I joined in September. Everyone has been really supportive throughout my transition into the school, and there are plenty of opportunities to go out and try new things or learn new skills.
“One such opportunity was student leadership. I was part of Student Parliament at LWA and wanted to make a difference at my new school as well. I am really grateful to GSAL for all the help and support they have provided me with upon joining this year, and to LWA for providing me with the knowledge and skills that helped me achieve a place here.”
Dan Whieldon, Principal at Leeds West Academy added: “Everyone at Leeds West Academy is incredibly proud of hearing of Morgan’s achievement.”
Everyone at the White Rose Academies Trust would like to further congratulate Morgan on what is a wonderful accomplishment, and looks forward to hearing of her future progress.
