This role is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join the White Rose Academies Trust on its journey to World Class.

With three secondary schools (Leeds City Academy, Leeds East Academy and Leeds West Academy) and one primary school (Alder Tree Primary Academy), the Trust educates over 4000 young people.

What we are looking for -

We’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Creative Lead, who is also a strategic thinker, to work on a range of design projects from marketing collateral, learning materials and promotional/corporate brochures to sub branding, websites, Twitter cards and everything in between.

You’ll be a natural problem-solver, highly creative, love sharing and exploring ideas and have an imaginative and curious mind. You will be a member of our small Creative team which includes two Creative Leads and a Videographer, working closely together to create innovative design and connecting with audiences through the power of storytelling.

A degree in Graphic Design or an equivalent subject is desirable, you will need to be proficient with creative cloud applications, have the confidence to drive projects forward and the ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy or attention to detail.

You’ll have excellent communication skills, and be just as comfortable working on individual projects as well as larger-scale projects with the whole team in a busy working environment.

The role is currently based at Leeds City Academy (Trust Head Office) however involves moving between sites to meet with colleagues across the trust, including the Academy Principals and their Business Managers.

The Role: The Creative Lead will join the Trust Marketing, Communications and Projects team. The team currently includes the following roles:

  • Head of Marketing, Communications and Projects

  • Creative Lead x 2

  • Marketing Lead

  • Communications Lead

  • Trust Project Lead x 2

  • Trust Project Manager x 2

  • Videographer x 1

As one of our Creative Leads you will be jointly responsible for supporting and enhancing the profile of the Trust and each of its provisions through the production of high-quality graphics and artwork, reflecting the brand appropriately on social media, on our website, and in marketing collateral.

Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Producing exceptional graphics, artwork and design elements for use across digital and offline outputs, ranging from learning materials and promotional/corporate brochures to sub branding, Twitter cards and social spots, for a range of stakeholders across the trust.

  • Working to and developing the brand image and visual message of the trust and its members.

  • Ensuring graphic design work reflects the trust/academy values whilst also engaging different stakeholders.

  • Working collaboratively with the wider Marketing, Communications and Projects team to further develop the brand and image of both the trust and its members.

  • Remaining up to speed with different trends and implement, where relevant and beneficial, across the trust.

  • Liaising with printing companies and coordinating production of physical marketing collateral and materials.

  • Maintaining an organised and streamlined creative file library accessible to the Marketing, Communications and Project team, if and when material is required.

  • Work closely with the Academy Principals in bringing their vision to life and promoting their academy.

  • Focusing efforts to ensure work is prioritised correctly and completed efficiently.

  • Researching and reporting on influencers, competitors and trends in industries as required.

  • Being flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and have the necessary creative and technical skills to complete work confidently.

  • Liaising with the Marketing, Communications and Projects team regarding the communication of upcoming promotional events and marketing campaign activity, to ensure graphic design is a key consideration.

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, managing own time effectively and meeting colleagues and trust/academy expectations on time and in full.

  • Being confident at presenting work back to the team internally, as well as to leaders and other colleagues, including a well-considered rationale.
