Message From The Chair Of The Board
Welcome to the White Rose Academies Trust, an academy group based in West Yorkshire with a strong sense of local community. We are an independent charitable trust established by our sponsor, Leeds City College. We currently work with three schools, Leeds City Academy, who joined us in August 2014 and Leeds East Academy and Leeds West Academy, who joined us in September 2014.
Our aim is to ensure the best possible educational outcomes for all the young people in our schools. We believe that our partnership with Leeds City College places us in a prime position to provide innovative solutions for the educational needs within the communities that we serve, so that we can support more young people to raise their aspirations and achieve their ambitions.
We know that we have had to make improvements within our academies and have been systematically investing in these improvements, especially through the development and support of our teaching staff, so that our young people get better access to the opportunities they deserve. This investment in additional resources will continue so that we have a strong team of staff at all levels across the academies, supported by a professional and dedicated leadership team.
The Trust Board and the Local Accountability Boards of each academy are equally committed to our vision that recognises and values the diversity of our young people and seeks to prepare them for the future that awaits them. We aim to strengthen their resilience and encourage their talents through their learning journey, so that they are ready to meet what lies ahead.
The Trust Board is made up of dedicated individuals, many with extensive educational experience, volunteering to provide good governance, support and challenge to our leadership team so that we deliver the best possible outcomes for young people. Having been part of the Trust start up, I am now delighted to be chairing its Board and look forward to delivering on our promises to our young people, their parents, carers and the local community.
