Anthony was educated at Bradford Grammar School and subsequently at Pembroke College Oxford, where he studied for a history degree.
After graduating in 1979, Anthony joined the international accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Leeds office. He qualified as chartered accountant in 1982 and has worked for the same firm ever since. Anthony has worked primarily in the Yorkshire area although he spent some time on secondment with the firm in Sydney Australia.
Anthony is currently a director in the assurance department of PwC where he specialises in pensions and not-for-profit organisations. He is a member of PwC's national pension’s leadership team and in this capacity has spoken at many industry wide conferences and events.
Outside work, Anthony is interested in a variety of sports and is a keen Leeds United fan, having been a season ticket holder for over 20 years. He is also involved in a number of environmental and wildlife charities and voluntary groups. Anthony is married to Alison and now lives at East Morton near Bingley. He is particularly keen to be involved with Leeds West Academy, believing that schools have a vital role to play in challenging and inspiring pupils and providing everyone with the means of maximising their potential in life - in whatever direction that takes.
