The White Rose Academies Trust is on a significant journey which will see all of our schools Ofsted rated as outstanding within the next three years. Our Academies are based in some of the most diverse and challenging areas of the UK, but all have at their core a truly inspirational student community. We are confident that our students will be the leaders of the future and that under their leadership, communities and nations will be radically transformed.
Thank you for taking an interest in Leeds West Academy. Our aim is to ensure that ‘every learner succeeds, is valued and makes a positive contribution.’ Our strong values underpin everything we do.
We want our learners to be well rounded active citizens with the skills and creativity to adapt to their future environment in education, training and the workplace. We believe that a good education is the passport to future success. The essential elements of a good education are high quality teaching, positive attitudes from learners, excellent attendance and strong partnerships between home and the Academy. Alongside this, at Leeds West we offer an inspirational and innovative new learning environment. This vibrant and creative backdrop provides the context for the Academy and its students to achieve outstanding results. This progress was endorsed by Ofsted in March 2012, who judged the academy to be ‘good’ overall with outstanding leadership and management.
Leeds East Academy is a rapidly improving school that is proud of the hard work of staff and students who together are forging a new path for our learning community. Very recently we invited trained Ofsted inspectors into our academy who judged us to have made “remarkable improvements” since our last Ofsted report. As well as inspectors, our students and parents/carers all tell us that the quality of what we do is getting better. This is particularly welcome as the progress of our students is at the heart of everything we do at Leeds East.
We put a great deal of emphasis on our core purpose of developing the talents of our students so that they are ready for the next steps in education, training or the workplace when they leave us. Our values are traditional in many ways, focusing on respect for each other, good order/positive behaviour for learning, and hard work in the classroom. Beyond the classroom our children have a wide range of opportunities to develop as individuals within sport, drama, dance and outward-bound activities.
At Leeds City Academy it is our core business to get every child the best qualifications we can so that they have the widest range of choices available to them at 16 years. Whatever we do, we do it to enable the children to make the fastest progress they can , and achieve as well as they can.We believe in educating the whole child and raising their aspirations. We celebrate the dignity and unique worth of the human person irrespective of race, colour, class, creed or gender.
We want to create a secure, safe place for them to learn. We model a successful multi-racial community that gives children the confidence to take an active part in their communities in the future. We feel ourselves as part of, and want to serve and reflect our local community and the wider Leeds community. We use partnerships with our local primary schools, other schools and colleges to get the best deal and a wide range of experiences for our pupils
